Privacy policy

This site teaches its readers things; it does not learn much about them. This page states exactly what data is collected, why, which providers it passes through, and how you take back control of it.
Who processes your data
This site is published in a personal capacity by Paul Sjoberg, Rue Dancet 1 bis, 1205 Genève, Suisse, who is the data controller.
For any question or request about your data: contact@mba-training.com.
What you can do without an account
Reading lessons, articles and the glossary, listening to the podcasts, using the calculators and taking the assessments all work without an account and without anything being tied to your identity. Tool and assessment results are computed in your browser and never leave it.
What is collected if you create an account
An account exists for one reason: to carry your progress from one session to the next. There is no automatic newsletter, no advertising profiling, and no sale of data.
| Data | Why | Where it is stored |
|---|---|---|
| Email address, name, profile picture | Identify you at sign-in | Clerk |
| Password (hashed) or Google sign-in | Secure access to the account | Clerk |
| Completed lessons, XP, quiz scores | Show your progress | Supabase |
| Articles read | Resume where you left off | Supabase |
| Assessment results | Build your competency radar | Supabase |
| Enrolled tracks | Populate your dashboard | Supabase |
Legal basis
- Performance of the service you asked for, covering your account and your progress: without that data the service cannot work.
- Your consent, for audience measurement: nothing is set until you accept the banner, and you can change your mind at any time.
- Legitimate interest in running and securing the site, covering the host's technical logs.
Cookies and audience measurement
The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and understand which pages are useful. Google's consent mode is set to denied by default: no measurement cookie is written until you click Accept in the banner. If you decline, measurement stays off.
Your choice is kept in your browser's local storage under the key "cookie-consent". Clearing site data resets it and the banner returns.
Clerk also sets a technical cookie to keep your session alive if you have an account. That one is required for sign-in to work and cannot be declined without giving up the account.
The providers involved
The site relies on third-party services. Each one only sees what it needs.
| Provider | Role | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Clerk (United States) | Accounts and authentication | Email, name, picture, session |
| Supabase (European Union) | Progress database | Account identifier, progress |
| Vercel (United States) | Site hosting | Technical logs, IP address |
| Google Analytics (United States) | Audience measurement | After consent only |
| Sanity (European Union) | Content storage | No personal data |
| Cloudflare R2 (United States) | Podcast audio files | No personal data |
Transfers outside Switzerland and the European Union
Some of these providers are established in the United States. Transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and on the equivalent safeguards provided by Swiss law. No data is passed to any third party outside that framework, and nothing is sold or rented.
How long data is kept
- Account and progress data: for as long as the account exists. It is deleted when you delete the account.
- The host's technical logs: a few weeks, per Vercel's retention.
- Audience measurement data: the retention period configured in Google Analytics.
Your rights
You can request access to your data, its correction, its deletion, its portability, or object to a processing operation. Write to contact@mba-training.com and you will get an answer within one month.
If the answer does not satisfy you, you may contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, or the data protection authority of your country of residence if you are in the European Union.
Deleting your account
Write to contact@mba-training.com from the account's address. The account and all associated progress are erased, with no copy retained.
Changes
This policy may change as the site changes. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
