The CFO seat is no longer about closing the books and reporting the past. It is about shaping the future of the enterprise, and this track builds the CFO who does exactly that. You start with the modern CFO mandate, then master corporate valuation and the capital structure decisions that set shareholder returns. This is the strategic core, and it is where value gets created or destroyed.

From there you rebuild the engine room. You will run a modern FP&A function, design scenario plans that survive real volatility, and construct a KPI architecture that turns numbers into control. Treasury, risk, and working capital get the same treatment, because cash conversion and internal controls are where good strategy either holds or collapses.

We do not skip the technical spine. You will command IFRS, GAAP, and the key standards, run a clean close and consolidation, and communicate to the board with clarity that earns trust. Then we push into the deal side: M&A strategy, deal structuring, due diligence, integration, and the tax and legal finance that make or break the return.

Capital markets is where the CFO faces the world. You will handle investor relations, shareholder management, and activist defense without flinching. And because finance is being rewritten, you will lead finance technology and AI transformation and own the ESG and sustainable finance agenda.

It closes where every serious CFO career is decided: building world-class teams, mastering board dynamics, and steering through crisis. This is not a survey. It is the full operating system for a finance leader who intends to run the company, not just report on it.

Häufige Fragen

What exactly does the CFO Track cover?

The CFO Track is an MBA-level finance curriculum organized into 8 blocks and 111 lessons, running from financial strategy and corporate valuation through FP&A, treasury, technical accounting, M&A, investor relations, digital and sustainable finance, and finance leadership. It is built around the strategic mandate of the modern CFO rather than the mechanics of closing the books.

Who is this designed for: sitting CFOs or people aiming for the seat?

Both. Sitting CFOs use the CFO Track to fill specific gaps, capital structure, activist defense, CSRD reporting, while finance directors, controllers and VP Finance use it to cover the parts of the mandate they have never owned. The prerequisite is comfort with financial statements, not a title.

Is there a diploma or certification at the end?

No. The CFO Track delivers no diploma, no state-recognized certification and carries no affiliation with a business school or university. Reading is free and open; an account only saves your progress across the 111 lessons.

Do I have to follow the 8 blocks in order?

The order is deliberate but not binding. Financial strategy and valuation come first because capital allocation decisions frame everything downstream, and M&A valuation or investor relations read better once you have that base. If you already run a valuation model daily, starting at FP&A or treasury costs you nothing.

What's the difference between the financial strategy block and the FP&A block?

Financial strategy (15 lessons) deals with where capital goes: corporate valuation, capital structure, shareholder returns, capital allocation. FP&A (15 lessons) deals with how the organization plans and steers: driver-based forecasting, zero-based budgeting, scenario analysis and KPI architecture. One sets the direction, the other builds the machinery that keeps the company on it.

Does the track handle IFRS and US GAAP, or only one framework?

Both. The reporting and technical finance block, 15 lessons, compares IFRS and GAAP directly and covers revenue recognition, consolidation, the close process and board-level financial communication. The point is to work across both frameworks, which is the reality for any group with international operations or investors.

Where do M&A and LBO valuation sit in the curriculum?

In a dedicated 15-lesson block covering deal structuring, financial due diligence, post-merger integration, LBO valuation, tax strategy and legal entity optimization. It treats the full deal lifecycle, since most value destruction in M&A happens after signing rather than in the model.

Is AI in finance and ESG reporting treated seriously or just mentioned?

They form a 12-lesson block: finance technology transformation, AI in finance, CSRD and TCFD reporting, green bonds and building the ESG finance function. CSRD in particular is treated as a reporting obligation to be operationalized, not as a communications exercise.
